Our client owns a popular toy manufacturing company importing and distributing their toys to the different parts of the countries. Their major hurdle to warehouse operation has been maintaining a rampant workflow between departments to meet the high demand of product manufacturing and distribution. Workers faced hurdles due to shorter work times. As a result, business operations in the warehouse distribution were impacted.  A different work process like receiving products from shippers and arranging them at the location experienced tough management issues due to poor inventory control. This also interferes with the shipping process that requires taking orders and picking orders from the stored location for delivery.

Their traditional infrastructure was another key hurdle that created connectivity issues among the departments. Since their conventional work systems were orchestrated on pre-designed programs, they realized the right time has arrived to upgrade and redesign their systems with the availability of the new and improved technologies.

Our core responsibility has been transformed this infrastructure to facilitate efficiency in their warehouse work process and drive business growth by improving overall systems. In doing so, our first approach was to develop an AI-powered infrastructure that can use the available information from the work system on a daily basis.

Roadmap to building a strategy

As we visited the site, we observed key points that caused hindrance to the warehouse operations. At first, we built a strategy to initiate our job and resolve the issue faced by our client.

We established endpoints to meet our goals. We invested our effort to build the following strategy:

  •  identifying potential risks
  •  finding out resolutions to those risks
  • conduct an analysis to find root cause

How We solved it

We used AI to transform their work process. We used that to achieve and implement an AI-driven work culture at the site. AI was integrated into their systems to harness data from the site. As soon as we ran the technology, it generated thousands of feature values based on work behavior, work location, quantities of the products and other things. Besides, we also analyzed different varieties of data such as product codes, text and symbols. As the system well adapted to the AI, it can analyze work process in a better manner and guide workers more efficiently.

The system works in the following way:

  •   Work request generated in the system
  •   Work instructions generated in the system (AI analyses this data and understands them and shows them in the work instruction system)
  •   receiving inputs from the work system, it adds original inventiveness
  •  work performed upon receiving the work instruction
  •  update generated about the performed work back to the work system  


With the incorporation of AI and cognitive applications into their work system, our client achieved efficiency across the site by fostering real-time and end-to-end visibility. At the same time, it increased organizations capability to enhance orchestration of the product that helped them mitigate risks and reduced the connectivity issues among the co-workers. As a result, the solution improved response during any events.

Above all, the entire work system integrated with AI contributed to a radical change to their business operations by utilizing work duration to the correct proportion. It helped them improve their consistency and enhanced speed to administer a range of work process including receiving and picking to and from manufacturing site and warehouse. With cognitive insights, their business now can now make faster and accurate data-driven decisions, while bringing transparency to the workflow.

As we analyzed data, we had observed their work time was reduced by 10% and they could concentrate on product generation better.
