Their major hurdle to warehouse operation has been maintaining a rampant workflow between departments to meet the high demand of product manufacturing and distribution. Workers faced hurdles due to shorter work times. As a result, business operations in the warehouse distribution were impacted.  A different work process like receiving products from shippers and arranging them at the location experienced tough management issues due to poor inventory control. This also interferes with the shipping process that requires taking orders and picking orders from the stored location for delivery.

Their traditional infrastructure was another key hurdle that created connectivity issues among the departments. Since their conventional work systems were orchestrated on pre-designed programs, they realized the right time has arrived to upgrade and redesign their systems with the availability of the new and improved technologies.

How We solved it

We used AI to transform their work process. We used that to achieve and implement an AI-driven work culture at the site. AI was integrated into their systems to harness data from the site. As soon as we ran the technology, it generated thousands of feature values based on work behavior, work location, quantities of the products and other things. Besides, we also analyzed different varieties of data such as product codes, text and symbols. As the system well adapted to the AI, it can analyze work process in a better manner and guide workers more efficiently.

The system works in the following way:

  •   Work request generated in the system
  •   Work instructions generated in the system (AI analyses this data and understands them and shows them in the work instruction system)
  •   receiving inputs from the work system, it adds original inventiveness
  •  work performed upon receiving the work instruction
  •  update generated about the performed work back to the work system  

Results

With the incorporation of AI and cognitive applications into their work system, our client achieved efficiency across the site by fostering real-time and end-to-end visibility.
