Case Study : How SynergyLabs Helped a University to Rapidly Introduce Effective AI-based eLearning Solutions

An AICTE approved Institute of Engineering Science and Technology in India found its traditional learning system to fall behind the grip of the COVID-19. The sudden containment strategies – month-long lockdowns affected its usual operations of learning. To ensure continuity of learning during lockdowns and crises, they needed more than a basic approach of LMS. SynergyLabs offered AI & ML-based eLearning solutions to adapt to their immediate requirement for learning continuity and resilience, designed to scale with future circumstances too.  

The challenge 

The abrupt closure of its learning centers and campuses restricted their regular operations. The need for scaling the entire education processes for University students and staff- organizing regular classes, enabling teacher-student-parent communication and assessment was becoming inconvenient for them. 

The scalable learning solutions needed online infrastructure or eLearning solutions to provide seamless access to online classes. The academic strategists or administrators at the University also reconsidered the need for new course plans to fit the online learning environment on short notice. 

For students in distant locations, network connectivity was posing another challenge. So they wanted a solution that could work on low bandwidth and support a unified learning experience for every student. 

Parallelly, the University felt that lab-based learning or engineering lessons that rely upon face-to-face learning processes should provide interactive experiences and facilitate cloud readiness in the most efficient manner. 

To focus on one integrated goal of eLearning enablement, one-size-fits-all wasn’t robust enough to facilitate core competencies the University stakeholders or peers were expecting. 

The solutions 

Our engineers and developers at SynergyLabs suggested orchestrating the whole process of efficient eLearning upon AI & ML-based solutions to facilitate online learning accessibility at ease and also deliver a unified experience across all platforms.

Rapid course planning and design have been the most significant achievement for the University that helped them overlay the new course into the LMS infrastructure and head start virtual classes without hassles. At SynergyLabs, our patron Jazari EdTech helped us embed Artificial Intelligence into science and engineering-based learning courses. Together with Nasscom and EDCAST, we facilitated the development of useful AI models and also created simulations to better lab-based teaching and delivery. The continuous apprehension to deliver productive and effective solutions to science and engineering classes also discovered quick remediation through this approach. 

We were quick to build a learning management system or LMS to ensure faculty, trainers, and college or university administrators could deliver lessons and continue the goal of future learning. The added advantage was the mobile readiness. The infection disruption couldn’t pose much risk to the continuity of learning for students as well as the authority. 

An integrated set of tools video conferencing, chat-based communication, or voice call improved collaboration between students and faculty, and simplified knowledge absorption. 

The video recording feature also made learning easy by allowing students to access assessments and lectures at any time of the day. Besides, assignments were easy to pass across students that also improved assessment and performance for the University.

We also solved network connectivity issues as normally preceded by the low bandwidth. Campus students moving to their native places had an opportunity to communicate their lesson queries or assessment delivery via emails. Pre-recorded lessons helped them learn rapidly. 

As we integrated Artificial intelligence into the eLearning platform, the University experienced rapid growth for their faculty and training team as they were able to slash service delivery time of teaching and learning and also increase their productivity. With teachers, faculty, and students achieving a great level of responsiveness from our AI-based eLearning platform, the objective of the University – to promote the continuity of education in any circumstances – has advanced beyond their expectations.
